Privacy Policy

1. Information we process

Player and session information. We process your chosen nickname, avatar selection, room code, session identifiers, and gameplay information to connect players, display participants, and synchronise multiplayer games. Your nickname, avatar, and relevant gameplay information are visible to other participants in your room. Please avoid using sensitive personal information in your nickname.

Device, usage, and diagnostic information. Our app and service providers process technical information such as device identifiers, device model, operating system, app version, IP address, session activity, gameplay events, and error information. This helps us operate the app, understand how features are used, investigate problems, and improve reliability.

Purchase information. If you purchase or restore a subscription, Apple and our subscription provider, RevenueCat, process information such as product identifiers, transaction records, purchase history, subscription status, and an app user identifier. We use this information to validate purchases, restore access, and provide premium features. We do not receive your full payment card details from Apple.

Support communications. If you contact us, we process the email address, message, and any information you choose to provide so we can respond to your request.

Local app data. Preferences and progress may also be stored on your device. Information stored only on your device is separate from information transmitted to our service providers.

2. Camera, microphone, and live communication

Offset offers live voice and video communication between participants in the same game room. Rooms are joined using a room code shared between players.

The app requests permission before accessing your camera or microphone. Camera access supports local previews and live video. Microphone access supports live voice communication.

When these features are active, your camera images and microphone audio are transmitted through the multiplayer communication infrastructure to other participating players in your room. This information does not remain solely on your device.

We do not record or retain recordings of live voice or video conversations after the communication ends.

Temporary processing and buffering are used to deliver the live communication. Technical connection logs are separate from conversation recordings.

The camera feature is used for video communication, rather than facial recognition or biometric identification. We do not use live camera or microphone content for advertising.

You can turn your camera or microphone off using the app’s controls and revoke permissions through your device settings. Turning off one feature stops its corresponding outgoing stream.

Other participants may independently capture what they see or hear using their own devices. We cannot control recordings made outside Offset.

3. Why we use information

We use information to:

• Connect players and synchronise multiplayer sessions.
• Provide live voice and video communication.
• Validate subscriptions and restore premium access.
• Understand gameplay and feature usage.
• Diagnose errors and improve app performance.
• Respond to support and privacy requests.
• Protect the service and meet applicable obligations.

4. Service providers and sharing

Offset uses the following providers:

• Photon / Exit Games: multiplayer networking and live communication infrastructure.
• RevenueCat: subscription validation, purchase history, subscription status, and restoration.
• GameAnalytics: gameplay analytics, usage events, purchase events, and diagnostic information.
• Apple: app distribution, purchases, and subscription management.

We remain responsible for how we configure these services and share information through Offset.

Information may also be disclosed where necessary to comply with applicable law, respond to valid legal requests, or protect users and the service.

5. Analytics and tracking choices

Offset uses analytics to understand gameplay, purchases, and technical problems.

Where enabled, device or advertising identifiers may also be processed for attribution and measuring the effectiveness of our marketing. On Apple devices, the app requests tracking permission through App Tracking Transparency where applicable.

You can decline tracking permission or change it in your device settings. Declining tracking permission does not necessarily disable all operational analytics or subscription processing; these are different activities.

6. Data retention

We do not retain recordings of live voice or video conversations.

The following information is retained indefinitely and is not subject to scheduled or automatic deletion:

• Gameplay analytics.
• Diagnostic and error information.
• Purchase and subscription records.
• Support correspondence.

Privacy and deletion requests are handled as described in Section 7. Applicable legal obligations may require certain records to be retained.

Deleting the app does not automatically delete information already held by service providers or cancel an Apple subscription.

7. Your choices and privacy requests

You can manage camera, microphone, and tracking permissions in your device settings. Apple subscriptions can be managed or cancelled through your Apple account’s subscription settings.

Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or restriction of your personal information, withdraw consent, or object to certain processing.

Send privacy requests to [email protected]. Please describe your request and provide enough information to help us locate the relevant records. Do not send passwords or full payment card details. We may ask for limited additional information to verify a request.

We will respond in accordance with applicable requirements and coordinate with our service providers where necessary. Deleting personal information does not itself cancel a subscription.

8. Children’s privacy

Offset is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information in circumstances requiring parental consent, contact [email protected] so we can investigate and take appropriate action, including requesting deletion where applicable.

The App Store’s content age rating is separate from privacy and parental-consent requirements.

9. Security and international processing

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information. No system can guarantee complete security.

Our service providers may process information in countries other than your own. Applicable protections for international processing depend on the provider and the services used.

10. Changes and contact

We may update this policy as the app or its data practices change. The latest version will be published on this page with an updated date. Material changes will be communicated where required.
